Porsche 996
The Porsche 996 is the first water-cooled model of the Porsche 911. After the 993, the Porsche 996 is the fünfte generation 911 and was built from 1997 to 2006. Its 3.4 to 3.6 liter six-cylinder boxer engines produce between 300 and 483 hp. The Porsche 996 was the first 911 to feature a cockpit that had been redesigned from the ground up. Porsche built a total of 175,262 of the 996 in Coupe, Cabriolet and Targa body styles. The Porsche 996 was also the first model series with a homologation model called GT3, which has since replaced the sports models formerly called Carrera RS. And the Porsche 996 remains the only 911 without the classic round headlights.
