To the point. For the first quarter of 2023, we take a closer look at the search habits of Elferspot’s users.

Numbers of searches at Elferspot still growing rapidly, front-runner still 911 G-Model

We have closely analyzed all the different search queries of our users from the last few years. All model series are increasing in search volume, in some cases by triple-digit percentages. Overall, searches on Elferspot have increased by a third over the past fifteen months. Interest in used Porsche sports cars continues unabated.

Disclaimer: The values always refer to search queries in which the model/series occurs. If a user looks for Porsche 964 Carrera 2 and 993 Carrera in the same search, this counts equally for both models. 12.6 percent share of total search volume for the G-Model therefore means that the 911 G model is (also) searched for in 12.6 percent of all searches.

Most searches on Elferspot are for the Porsche 911 G model. 12.6 percent of all searches contain a query for the second-generation 911. With 12.2 percent across all queries, the Porsche 997 follows directly in its slipstream. The top 5 is rounded off by the 991, 993 and 964, with the Porsche 911 F model, 996, 356, 982 and 992 occupying the other positions.

Biggest increases for the Porsche 997 and 991, with the 992 also showing strong growth

The top position could be contested by the 911 G-model for the first time this year. Since 2021, 911 generations six and seven, i.e. the 997 and 991, have been catching up in leaps and bounds. Both models recorded large increases of around 50 percent in 2022 and the first quarter of 2023. Porsche 964 and 993 are also increasingly converging in terms of search volume. The sharp rise in interest in the 987 Boxster and Cayman is also particularly exciting.

But the current Porsche 911 generation, the 992, is also gaining in favor with buyers. In 2022, the number of search requests for this model more than tripled. In the first quarter of 2023 alone, another 30 percent search volume was added. If the trend continues, the 992 will possibly double its search volume again. Despite many critical voices, the current 911 is finally arriving as a popular choice on the used market.

Porsche 993 Carrera, 911 Carrera 3.2 and 930 most sought-after models, biggest increases for 964 Carrera 2, 997 GT3, anniversary models and 992 Carrera

There was a change at the top of the most searched-for models however. While the queries for 911 Backdates were still in the lead at the beginning of 2022, the 993 Carrera is now in the lead. These two models account for 9.3 percent of the total search volume. The Porsche 930 and 911 Carrera 3.2 are already well behind at 3.8 and 3.4 percent respectively. This is followed by the model with the highest growth rate in search volume, the 992 GT3. Logical, after all, as it was not on sale until 2021.

Demand for Porsche 964 Carrera 2 is also currently rising massively. Since the beginning of 2022, the 911 built from 1989 to 1994, has more than doubled its search volume. The Porsche 997 GT3 is also growing strongly, with almost 75 percent growth across both generations. The other winners are the 993 Carrera RS and, interestingly, searches for anniversary models. Maybe the upcoming 60th anniversary of the 911 could be casting its shadow.
