Behind Elfwerks
Elfwerks or Elfwerks.co, as some may know us—either way, a loved child has multiple names they say.
Our love affair with cars and motorsport is not a surprise by any mean, would there be any other way when your hometown is Jyväskylä, the heart of motorsport in Northern Europe and the legendary home of the Rally of a Thousand Lakes. (Yes, the same rally featuring iconic scenes of Hannu Mikkola thundering his flame-spitting Quattro through the Ouninpohja stage.) Also, the same town happens to be the birthplace for many world champions, such as Tommi Mäkinen and Kalle Rovanperä, to name a few.
We are specialized German vintage sportscars, and collectibles specially made by Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen. Yet still we are very happy to get involved with other makes too, but those above are what we know best and have built an expertise for more than a decade and counting.
Business-wise, we may not fit the mold of traditional dealerships, vintage car brokers, or workshops. In most cases, we sell and manage our own inventory to maintain high standards, with our in-house workshop handling the majority of projects.
Transparency is a cornerstone philosophy for us—whether advertising our cars or documenting the restoration process, we must be ready to stand tall with our product, cherishing the best of it while simultaneously acknowledging that we are in the business of used assets. These assets have been out there, used, and will show signs of wear or have defects. Documentation is something we highly value since we like to sell cars the way we would want to buy them if we weren’t us. This sentiment resonates with our customers, and we believe this philosophy establishes trusted partnerships worldwide.
Expertise and connections gained over the years in diverse sectors of the automotive industry, ranging from the economics behind vintage car valuation to MK5 Golf rust repair,** have prepared our team of two to deliver high-quality service today.
So, all that being said, we firmly believe that Elfwerks has a special place in the industry among other great companies and customers dedicating a passion to vintage cars!
(**commonly known joke: due to road salt, poor materials at the factory, and a very high average age of cars in Finland, this is a very common almost everyday procedure for everyone in Finland involved in a used car business.)
Route to Elfwerks
My name is Juuso Suonio and I’m the founder of Elfwerks.
The route itself went something like this; Almost two decades ago, as a teenager I got to meet some very nice people with very cool Audis, and as the years went by, I met more nice people, and they had some cool Porsches and Volkswagens too. I wanted to get involved with nice people and cool cars, so ca. ‘09 I got my first classic, a Golf GTi. After years of hard work, dedication and following my gut feeling, I’m here and I warmly welcome you to join and share the passion!
