This particular RUF RCT EVO comes with notable provenance, with past ownership including both Estonia Ruf and Gerard Lopez, the former chairman of the company. Like the majority of RCTs, it began life as a Porsche 911 Carrera, specifically a two-wheel-drive, 1990 model-year. It was swiftly dispatched to RUF in Pfaffenhausen for a complete RCT conversion. Documentation confirms the car was first road-registered in September 1992, post-conversion. To convert the car to RCT specification, the following parts were changed:
After its conversion, the car spent many years in Switzerland, regularly serviced and maintained by Porsche and RUF dealership Elite, as evidenced by the seven stamps in the service book.
In early 2013, during Mr. Lopez’s ownership, the RCT was returned to RUF for a drivetrain rebuild and cosmetic overhaul. The engine and gearbox were completely disassembled and revised, and various smaller cosmetic components were either refined or replaced. Detailed invoices documenting this work are available upon request. Since the rebuild, the car has traveled a mere 27,400 km.
In 2019, the car was imported to the UK, where it remained for two years until 2021, when the current owner—a prominent collector with an exceptional series of RUF cars—purchased the vehicle and imported it to Sweden. Later that year, the car returned to RUF for an EVO upgrade and a complete mechanical overhaul, which included:
- Complete Engine-out Service & Overhaul
- Cylinder Heads renovation
- RCT EVO engine upgrade, Larger Turbo installed, Upgraded fuel injection & ECU.
- Brakes overhauled and calipers painted in PTS colour to match the rear RUF reflectors
- Bilstein PSS10 suspension (Konis replaced)
- RCT EVO Rear wing
- RCT EVO engine cover
- RCT EVO rear reflector
- RUF 18” Classic wheels
- Revised interior
- Clear side reflectors and indicators
- New tires: Michelin PS2
Upon completion, the RCT EVO was tested on a dyno, producing a very impressive 450+ horsepower. The car stands out for its exceptional mechanical condition, having covered just 3,927 km since the 2021 comprehensive mechanical overhaul and EVO upgrade. From the moment you approach the car, its unique character is undeniable. Start the engine, and that sense of specialness deepens—the distinctive, exhilarating sound truly sets it apart from any other 964, or Porsche for that matter. It’s a car that effortlessly keeps pace with Stuttgart’s latest offerings on a twisty country road.
