2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder for sale!
6-Speed Manual Boxster Spyder with 5,300 Miles. Folding Carbon Bucket Seats and Over $30,000 of Options.
When it was new, the Boxster Spyder was the lightest car sold by Porsche, a characteristic that sums up the philosophy that underpins the car perfectly. Not unlike the original 356 Speedster, the car is pared down and sharpened, which yields an elemental sports car which has already become collectible little more than a decade after the car entered production. The Spyder was introduced as a low production car which sat above both the base and S model Boxsters, providing more power and a more sporting ethos, both cosmetically and under the skin. This was achieved through the recently introduced direct-injected naturally-aspirated flat-6, which could be paired with either a traditional 6-speed manual or Porsche’s excellent then-new PDK. The Spyder lost 176 pounds of weight through the installation of aluminum doors and rear decklid, and lighter convertible top and interior door releases. The cup holders and storage compartments were also removed, and the radio and air conditioning systems were made optional as well. Firmer suspension lowered the ride height by about an inch as well, and the engine’s output increased by 10 hp to 320 hp.
