Full TechArt Widebody With TechArt Multi-Piece Wheels and Numerous Other Special Touches, Arctic Silver Over Boxster Red Leather

Porsche is a company known for building some of the best sports cars in the world- but that doesn’t stop companies from sprouting up to modify these cars to suit individual needs. In 1987, a company called TechArt came into the fold with extreme body modifications and wild color schemes that aligned with the era. Some featured forced induction or other power adders, but TechArt was primarily known for changing the look of 911s and 928s to be far more aggressive than Porsche would ever produce from the factory. In the 2000s, on the 996 and 986 chassis cars, TechArt developed a style defining the company’s design language for over a decade and dovetailed with the new models’ smooth styling remarkably nicely.

The vehicle in detail

This 2001 Porsche Boxster S by TechArt features a highly specialized widebody kit developed by the aftermarket tuner after the success of the widebody 996 Carrera they first showed in 2000. Delivered new in May of 2001, this Boxster S is finished in the attractive Boxster concept color scheme of Arctic Silver Metallic over Boxster Red leather interior. The TechArt widebody adds 8 cm to the front and rear tracks of the car, which allows for wider wheels and tires to sit beneath the car. A revised front bumper with larger cooling ducts keeps fresh air flowing over the brakes while also reducing lift at speed up front. In the rear, a small auxiliary wing helps balance out the front downforce.

The interior is finished in extended Boxster Red leather, which is a stunning contrast to the silver exterior and presents in very good condition. A custom TechArt steering wheel with a thicker rim and perforated leather fitted with the TechArt logo embossed in the center. The center stack, transmission tunnel, and air vent surrounds are all finished in body color, giving the car a more modern appearance, and TechArt drilled aluminum pedals have been installed.

Powering this Boxster S is a 3.2 liter flat-6 that produces 250 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque and will rev to 7,200 rpm. This engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Tiptronic S gearbox with steering wheel-mounted shift buttons that offers simple in town driving while also letting you hold gears on your favorite back road. A set of red Porsche brake calipers with drilled rotors sit behind 18” multi-piece TechArt wheels wrapped in Dunlop SportMaxx tires.

The 986 chassis Porsche Boxster is known to be one of the best driver’s cars out there, with a sublime chassis and just the right amount of power to have fun without getting in too much trouble. But since they were so great, many are on the road, and it is almost impossible to stand out from the crowd while driving one. With this TechArt Widebody Boxster S, you get to enjoy everything that makes a Boxster sought after while looking like nothing else out there and attracting attention at any gathering of enthusiasts.
