on July 17, 2008 GP Germany
on September 12, 2008 GP Italy
The drivers were:
Antonio Coimbra
Neel Jani
Albert von Thurn and Taxis
The vehicle was then used for a few VIP taxi rides by Porsche AG and sold with around 70 operating hours.
According to Porsche, an engine overhaul is due after around 100 operating hours.
The vehicle had no significant accidents or damage and is therefore the ideal collector's item.
Before it was sold to the current owner, the complete ceramic brake system was replaced. (approx. €27,000.00)
The vehicle has been in a collection since it was purchased and has only been used sporadically.
Before delivery, all fluids are changed and an inspection is carried out, so the vehicle is “ready for rollout”.
Porsche 911 GT3 CUP 997 2008 VIP #40
The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup starts the 2008 motorsport season with an increased output of 420 hp. The new Cup vehicle is the vehicle used in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, as well as in the national Porsche Carrera Cups and the GT3 Cup Challenges worldwide. 265 examples of the near-production racing car developed in Weissach will be built on the production line in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen this year. That is a new record.
The most noticeable change compared to last year's model is the new rear section, which is based on the production model and was added for thermal reasons. The 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, which is also based on the series, now produces 420 hp; 20 hp more than the previous model. The gear ratio-optimized sequential six-speed transmission with interruption of traction enables upshifts at full throttle without using the clutch. The operating weight of 1,150 kilograms enables a power-to-weight ratio of 2.7 kilograms per horsepower.
The 26 for the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup are thanks to a special braking system – the
Porsche ceramic composite brake PCCB (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake) – 20kg lighter again and also equipped with a slightly more robust-sounding exhaust system.
The racing cars used worldwide in the Carrera Cup, on the other hand, have steel brake discs.
The technical data of the car are as follows:
