A 7-inch Alpine multimedia system has now been installed, including DAB radio, reversing camera, Gladen RC100 speakers and Silent Coat acoustic insulation in the doors. In the interest of originality, we have installed the original PCM module, but this can easily be replaced. The LED rear lights are based on the facelift 997, but the originals are present. The paint has recently been professionally polished and ceramic coated, the interior has been intensively cleaned and the tyres all round [with N-coding] have been renewed, in addition to the maintenance according to interval. The crystal clear 19″ ‘Lobster’ wheels and four chrome exhaust tailpipes accentuate the iconic lines of a sports coupé that has conquered many automotive hearts in Porsche’s rich history.
In the 2.5 years that the 997.1 Targa 4 was sold, only 1,525 units were produced worldwide. They are all equipped with a naturally aspirated [non-turbo] 3.6-liter boxer with 325 hp and 370 Nm of torque, distributed over all four wheels. This block is experienced as more reliable than the 3.8 S versions, due to bore scoring. This example is equipped with an automatic 5-speed Tiptronic S transmission, which is versatile to use, knows how to keep the power on the road well and feels comfortable. The Targa roof can be slid completely under the rear window, making it feel like a convertible. An ingenious system, whereby the Coupé characteristics are retained and the rear window, for example, can also be opened completely to pack luggage.
Some highlights from the options list are adaptive shock absorbers [PASM], sports exhaust [incl. switchable flap], Cruise Control, ParkAssist rear, bi-xenon headlights with washers, rear window wiper, automatically dimming mirrors, rain sensor, sun protection windscreen, automatic climate control with air conditioning, anti-theft alarm [SCM class 3], the Sound Package Plus and a multifunction sports steering wheel with shift paddles. In terms of infotainment, this 911 is factory-fitted with Porsche Communication Management [PCM] with, among other things, navigation, Bluetooth telephone, CD player [incl. storage] and an on-board computer. The seats are covered with perforated leather and contrasting stitching. The backrests are electrically adjustable.
Maintenance was stamped at 30,379km [25-8-2009], 62,211km [3-11-2011], 88,655km [8-10-2013], 107,525km [20-6-2017], 114,597km [30-7-2020], 124,297km [21-4-2022] and 130,000km [26-1-2024]. The major maintenance was carried out by specialist Huisman and included a major service, modifications to the water pump, thermostat and multi-belt and replacement of the cooling radiators, condensers, air conditioning dryer, strut bearings, front and rear wishbones, brake pads all around and the alternator. The Porsche is therefore completely up-to-date. The MOT is valid until June 28, 2025. Everything is working properly, the engine block runs cleanly [without smoke development at cold start] and there are no leaks. The past is accident-free; the head has been resprayed, the other paint values are original.
This Porsche was sold new by the Belgian dealer in Grâce-Hollogne, the catalogue value was € 139,464. A total of five owners passed by; three in Belgium and two in the Netherlands. The first ran a large company in business aviation [private jets], the second was a real estate investor and the third ran several gas stations. In April 2021, Autopark Uden imported the car into the Netherlands with 116,934 km, after which it was sold to a tax specialist who sold it to the last owner [pensionado] in January 2024. We traded the car in for a 991.2 4S Coupé from 2017. Two keys and the full documentation are present. Under the heading ‘documents’ on our website you will find detailed photos of this. Come and experience it!
