The vehicle in detail

Chassis No. WP0AB29922S687114

The 986 Boxster impressed upon its 1996 U.S. debut, but the 996-generation 911, sharing a similar design, raised concerns among Porsche purists. These doubts faded with the arrival of the 2001 911 Turbo optioned with the X50 “Turbo Powerkit.” Featuring a 450-horsepower twin-turbo flat six, all-wheel drive, and speed-activated aerodynamics, it returned the 911 to the pinnacle of international performance cars. Eager enthusiasts flocked to dealers to order their own powerful X50 Turbo full of Exclusive options with a carefree attitude.

While many 996-generation 911 Turbos were selected in a limited palate of common colors and interior options befitting the average age of a new Porsche purchaser, the original owner of this 911 Turbo bucked the trend selecting rare Carrara White over a Black leather interior replete with numerous carbon fiber interior pieces. Less than two percent of 996 production was painted in Carrara White, and even fewer opted for this attractive hue for the 911 Turbo. It is an exceptionally rare color to see on a 996. $17,700 was spent on the 450-horsepower X50 option Turbo Powerkit and thousands more on 13 additional Exclusive options that included seven carbon fiber trim options and a leather-covered center console, Porsche crested seat headrests, aluminum-look gauge faces, and an X99 Natural Leather interior in “03” Black.

The window sticker and service book show this X50-powered 911 Turbo was delivered to Jack Daniels Porsche of Nanuet, New York. The clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report reveals it had accumulated only 2,600 miles when it was acquired by its second owner in 2006. Over the next nine years, the car remained in New York State before being exported to Europe; its rare livery, X50 specification, and manual transmission being a huge draw in any market. In 2024, this X50 Turbo returned to the United States and received a Major Service and inspection at Porsche West Houston, at a cost in excess of $7,000, with a confirmed 5,354 miles on the odometer at that time. During the service, fluids were changed including brake fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant, while an oil tank seal, drive belt, and the engine air filter were replaced. A new set of correct staggered Michelin Pilot Sport tires were installed.

Notably, the 996 X50 remains in stock, unmodified condition featuring its original paint, glass, and upholstery, presenting as a unicorn level preservation-class candidate of the 996 generation. It has been recently detailed and its underbody was steam cleaned in preparation for auction. Offered with its original window sticker, books, toolkit, spare, jack, emergency accessories, and a clean CARFAX, this low-mileage X50 Turbo is a collector’s dream, ordered in a rare color and exceptionally optioned with the help of Porsche Exclusive.
