2005 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Clubsport – RM Sotheby’s
Accompanied by its original owner manuals and numerous invoices from throughout its life!
Here is a fine, virtually unused example of Porsche’s highly sought-after 996-generation GT3 RS Clubsport, viewed by many as the car which revived the legendary Porsche ‘RS’ moniker. Only 682 of these marvelous automobiles were constructed. The 996 GT3 RS was a special homologation edition intended to compete in the FIA’s GT3 category. While most production GT3 RS’s were used on the street, the rare Clubsport package was aimed at the track enthusiast, fitted at the factory with a full light-alloy roll cage, a carbon-fibre hood and rear wing, plastic backlight, fixed-back Recaro racing seats with six-point racing harnesses, a fire extinguisher, and a single-mass flywheel that helped the 380 bhp, 3,746 cc water-cooled engine more quickly reach redline.
