Porsche 996 GT3 RS

The 2004 Porsche 911/996 GT3 RS is a very special 911, created to homologate the 996-based GT3 RSR. It was available in a limited numbers and is distinguished by a carbon-fiber hood and side mirrors, a polycarbonate rear window, as well as a carbon-fiber rear wing for increased downforce as well as model-specific badging. It was only available in Carrara White with either red or blue inscriptions on its sides.

The GT3 RS handling comes from stiffer suspension, adjustable front and rear control arms, a 3mm reduction in ride height compared to the standard GT3, 18″ GT3 wheels with 235/40 front tires and 295/30 rear. Braking is from six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers with cross-drilled rotors all around.

The power is from a 3.6 liter (Mezger designed) flat six cylinder producing, 3.6 liter flat six cylinder producing 381 hp at 7400 rpm with 284 lb-ft of torque at 5000 rpm. 0-62 mph came in 4.4 seconds and it has a top speed of 190 mph.

The 911/996 GT3 RS was not available for import to North America, thus, to find one is quite rare. This GT3 RS was originally delivered in Germany where it had enjoyed collector ownership and care with limited street mileage to date. It was imported to the United States in 2022 under the NHTSA Show or Display exemption and federalized at great expense.

This 911/996 GT3 RS has seen Porsche collector ownership since new and has always been well taken care of. With only 9,000 miles, it has always been driven as a street car and has no excuses. This GT3 RS is turn-key and ready for enjoyment and collectability. It is exceptional throughout and is complete with all books, tools, service booklet, first aid kit and spare tire inflator.
