All-wheel drive? This is what a certain W. Röhrl has to say about it:
With purely rear-wheel drive 911s, you used to have to be careful not to design them with too much steering ability, otherwise the grip on the front axle would have been too great. Because if anything goes wrong while driving, the center of gravity wants to follow the centrifugal force; there's no discussion about it. That's why the 911s used to be set up to understeer. With all-wheel drive, you don't have to do that, and you can push it to the physical limits; the risk of the rear end coming off is much lower. I think that's good.
