2001 Porsche 996 Carrera 4

No classic has been evaluated as beautifully as the Porsche 911: the high-tech supercar that is widely praised for its all-round usability. Compared to the air-cooled 993, this 996 offered more comfort, power [301hp], safety systems [eight airbags and Traction Control] and yet that iconic appearance for a relatively limited investment from its introduction in 1997. A timeless design, contemporary interpreted with all kinds of ‘X’ options from Porsche Exclusiv Manufaktur. In addition to the extensive Zijdenappa leather interior, many panels and instruments are stylishly finished with aluminum, stainless steel and colored crests. What is relevant now is that this copy from July 2001 was originally delivered in the Netherlands, has a complete maintenance history and is in very good, damage-free and original condition.

The vehicle in detail

However popular, the model will never become a grey mouse. Not even when the bodywork is coloured Seal Grey. The signature comes into its own extremely powerfully and thanks to a recent detailing and original paint values, the exterior is almost indistinguishable from new. In contrast to the 90s, the indicators all around are white and the 17” alloy wheels emphasise the fact that this is a four-wheel drive version. In the interior we find only high-quality materials, including the popular 3-spoke steering wheel, a Premium Sound system and extensive PCM infotainment. Contrast can be found in the Arctis Silver centre console, instrument panel surround and white clocks. The whole feels cared for, smells fresh and has remained well-conditioned over the past 24 years.

This Porsche has a new price of € 135,536, – and gained its first driving experience from the dealer in Leusden, with a private owner who enjoyed it until 4-3-2013 [168,933 km]. Three private owners followed, who changed on 16-6-2021 [221,689 km] and 15-9-2022 [225,323 km]. We then traded the car in for another 996, after which it was quickly sold. The current owner has enjoyed it for approximately 10,000 km, but has decided to sell it for health reasons. In November 2022, a purchase inspection was carried out by specialist Longhoods; the report, as well as the other maintenance history, can be found on our website under the heading ‘documents’. All electronics work properly and the car is completely free of creaks, leaks or other defects. The engine sounds silky smooth [without smoke development] even at a cold start and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. There are no faults present.

Dealer maintenance was stamped at: 30,114km [26-6-2002], 40,639km [28-11-2002], 63,502km [13-10-2003], 81,869km [19-10-2004], 96,641km [10-11-2005], 108,912km [5-12-2006], 121,896km [7-11-2007], 136,259km [14-11-2008], 146,081km [10-11-2010] and 164,841km [23-11-2012]. At the latter, the gearbox also received fresh oil and a filter. The second owner worked at a car company and stamped maintenance at 174,206km [4-11-2014], 186,431km [16-11-2016], 199,332km [28-11-2018], 213,876km [6-1-2020] and 220,630km [21-1-2021]. Maintenance was recently carried out on 26-8-2022 [225,196km] and 16-7-2024 [233,894km]. The latter was a major service, including spark plugs, filters, heat shields and exhaust end mufflers. The fitted Michelin summer tires have approximately 40% tread all around, the brake pads have recently been renewed [80%] and the discs are at 50% wear, based on the replacement interval set by Porsche.
