The car we are offering was completed as a pre-series vehicle in July 2002 and given the country code C02 during production (hence the 'bumper' on the rear bumper), but it never made the journey across the ocean.
In fact, Porsche AG had the car inspected for the first time in Stuttgart in May 2003, before it was sold to a gentleman in Sweden in July 2005. The invoice from the factory car sales department is available, and the mileage at that time was 47,601km. The Lago Green car (we imagine the special color to be even more special in the far north) remained in Sweden for almost exactly ten years – including five visits to the Porsche Center in Stockholm.
In June 2015, a dear friend of ours decided to bring the car back to Swabia. The mileage at that time: 104,000km. Not even a year later, but almost 6,000 km later, he sold the Targa again due to its age (the age of the owner at the time) and wanted an automatic.
And so the fourth owner had the pleasure of owning his first 911 at the beginning of 2016. Today we know: It couldn't have found a better home – one that always takes care of things straight away when something needs doing. You can read here what the Porsche specialist has done over the last few years or 10,000km outside of the regular service: ignition coil replacement, headlight cleaning system repaired, right-hand window regulator replaced/ crankshaft shaft seal and intermediate shaft bearing with seals/ brake light and ignition switch/ rear shock absorbers (Bilstein)/ catalytic converters and lambda sensors/ air conditioning condensers, air conditioning filled… – plus many other smaller jobs, all of which document the exemplary care of the last owner in the form of invoices.
We drove the Targa home on the road and are thrilled. It fits! Between you and me: nobody needs more Porsche. OK, we're getting subjective… 🙂
