Design
Also for the last time is the natural evolution of the 993 Carrera compared to the original Elfer. Each generation later included interventions that, in our opinion, seemed a little more artificial. The raw and uncompromising element was therefore somewhat lost – with the exception of a single winged GT version. For example, note the hips, which are traditionally considerably wider than the rest of the body. The headlights lean subtly further back, but are still just as round. However, the model is less angular and therefore more elegant than its predecessors; typical 90’s style. But less raw? Whoa. It means that we can best describe our 993 Cabrio as a natural beauty. One that has evolved perfectly and looks nice and discreet, with its black paint. In addition, the originality of this example shines through: Beautiful BBS wheels, a convertible top in very good condition and an original black leather interior complete this 911 Carrera.

Equipment
Although the classic layout of the shallow dashboard suggests otherwise, the equipment of the 993 is anything but spartan. In addition to an open roof, there is also air conditioning. Cooling down without losing your wild hair is also possible! Furthermore, the black leather seats are electrically adjustable, even in height. Although you will quickly warm up to the authentic appearance of this Porsche, which is in great condition. Our Elfer does not work for less than 5 analogue instruments on the dashboard. As it should! Other features of earlier 911 models are the relatively upright windscreen and minimalist designed center/tunnel console in which the upgraded audio system is incorporated.

Technology
The naturally aspirated 6-cylinder boxer in the rear has a capacity of 3.6 liters and has been able to squeeze a total of 286 hp from the air-cooled block since the model update or upgrade at the end of 1995 – 13 horses more than before. The included maintenance booklets confirm our suspicion that the classic 911 has been excellently cared for. Exactly what the characteristic boxer roll sounds like!
