Model History
The Porsche 993 marks a significant chapter in the history of the Porsche 911, as it was the last model in this iconic series to be equipped with an air-cooled boxer engine. Introduced in 1993 as the successor to the Porsche 964, the 993 set new standards in design and technology.
The 993's engine range was diverse and powerful. The base versions, such as the Carrera and Targa models, offered engines with an output of 200 kW (272 hp) and 210 kW (286 hp), respectively. The top model, the Porsche 993 Turbo, impressed from 1995 onwards with 300 kW (408 hp) and standard all-wheel drive. Porsche also developed enhanced-performance versions for motorsports and particularly demanding customers.
