The eighth generation 911 (internal type 992) was presented at the LA Autoshow in America in late 2018 and was available from early 2019. Compared to the previous generation, the car has grown by 20 mm in length and 5 mm in height with the same wheelbase. However, the track width has increased by 40 mm. Furthermore, the classic door handles have been replaced by (electrically) folding door handles that improve aerodynamics. A continuous light band was installed at the rear. Another striking feature is the wheel set, which differs in width and height, with the rear wheels being 1 inch larger than the front wheels. In the interior, the difference to the predecessor 991 is big. A completely redesigned digital dashboard was introduced, while retaining the characteristic centrally placed analog tachometer.
In this S version, the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder biturbo boxer engine delivers a whopping 450 hp and a maximum torque of 530 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h with Launch Control takes just 3.5 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 12.1 seconds. Top speed 308 km/h. These are values that were reserved for turbos not so long ago. In short, a sports car suitable for everyday use with serious driving performance.
The nice thing about the S version compared to a base Carrera is the options that come standard. In some cases, these options are also not configurable on a Carrera basis. Think of the more powerful engine, with red painted brake calipers with 6 pistons at the front and 4 pistons at the rear, larger brake discs of 350mm for better braking performance, larger Carrera S wheels, PASM with 10mm lowered chassis, LED headlights and not to forget Porsche Vectoring Plus.
special equipment . This Carrera S is additionally equipped with fine options such as heated seats, leather interior, sports chrono, sports exhaust, adaptive cruise control and a sunroof. The black rims shown including new Michelin tires and Capristo sports exhaust with sports catalytic converters are available at extra cost.
maintenance . We know this car well and did the first service in August 2022 at 21,781 km. All work is noted in the complete service booklet. This car will not require any maintenance for the next 2 years of normal use. The car was originally delivered in Denmark and came to the Netherlands in September 2021.
