As the final iteration of the 991 generation to ever pass down the production line at the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen factory, the 911 Speedster would also celebrate the 70th anniversary of Porsche in 2018. Hoping to embody their timeless dream, the Speedster visualizes what the Porsche brand has represented for over 70 years, a simplified, lightweight and powerful sports car. Reminiscent of prior Speedsters, the 991-generation would offer a shortened windscreen and reduced profile with an unmistakable 911 silhouette. Paying homage to the year Porsche was founded, Speedster production was limited to 1,948 units worldwide with just 588 made available to US-based Porsche customers, the majority of which were 918 Spyder Circle members.
Developed by Porsche’s legendary GT division, the Speedster would utilize many components already proven in some of the most highly-praised 991 generation 911s such as the GT3 and 911 R. Powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine, this high-revving engine reaches an incredible 9,000 rpm while producing 503-horsepower. Crucial to any proper driver’s car, the Speedster also features Porsche’s renowned six-speed GT sports manual transmission first developed for the legendary 911 R, sending power exclusively to the rear wheels. The open-top driving experience of the 911 Speedster offers an unparalleled soundtrack of the thoroughbred naturally aspirated engine in a package that is both classic Porsche and thoroughly modern.
Carefully specified with over $30,000 in optional extras, this 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster is finished in a beautiful Paint to Sample Bahama Yellow. This historic color was first introduced on the early 911 starting in 1966 and is the epitome of classic Porsche. Complemented by 20-inch forged alloy wheels with central locking finished in Satin Platinum, this vehicle was selected with the optional front axle lift. Equipped with sport bucket seats trimmed in Black leather, this interior is beautifully appointed with deviated stitching throughout along with painted air vent slats and Bose Surround Sound System.
Offered with less than 1,000 miles at the time of cataloging, this well-preserved example is protected by paint protection and comes complete with its original keys, books and manuals, the original window sticker, and vehicle service history. Accompanied by a clean Carfax report indicating just two previous owners, this highly optioned car was recently sold through Porsche of Palm Springs in March 2021. As the final 991 generation 911 ever produced, the Speedster was a well-deserved sendoff showcasing the best of what Porsche had to offer in a delightful and engaging open-air driving experience.
