The first Porsche with a Targa roof was presented in September 1965 at the IAA as the "Porsche 911 Targa". In contrast to the "Porsche 911 Cabriolet", which only appeared in the 1980s, there was a rollover protection system, the so-called Targa bar, which meant that the resulting "safety convertible" met the stricter approval guidelines of the US export market, which is important for Porsche. 49 years later, on January 14, 2014, Porsche presented a 911 with a soft top and fixed roll bar at the Detroit Motor Show, for the first time since the Targa model of the 964 series. At the time, Porsche advertised with the slogan "Imagine meeting your childhood sweetheart again. And she's even more beautiful." Unlike the classics, the roof segment of the 991 Targa opens and closes at the touch of a button. For the first time, it was possible to combine the classic Targa idea with the most modern roof comfort. The fully automatic roof system allows the top to disappear spectacularly behind the rear seats. We consider the 991 pre-facelift model to be the last of its kind and the end of a Carrera era, the 6-cylinder boxer naturally aspirated engine still draws its power from the full 3,800 cc displacement before the 991.2 fell victim to downsizing and the new emissions standards and Porsche delivered the model series with a turbo instead of a naturally aspirated engine for the first time in the history of the 911.

The 991 Targa 4S we are offering is an accident-free vehicle in its original paint from a German delivery that was handed over to its first owner as part of a factory delivery on March 10, 2015. Those familiar with the model will immediately notice the luxurious yet sporty characteristics of the car; in addition to the paintwork in deep black metallic, a black full-leather interior with extended features and the 20-inch 911 Turbo wheels were ordered. The interior of the car also stands out from the standard pool of the rest of the vehicles with its many equipment details: A BOSE surround sound system, the comfort package (€4,748.10) and a light design package as well as some exclusive options, such as the illuminated stainless steel door sill panels, in conjunction with the black all-leather interior and the fully leather-covered sports seats plus, provide the everyday portion of luxury, while the Sport Chrono package, the Sport Design steering wheel and the factory-installed sports exhaust system emphasize the pure 11 characteristics and make the daily drive to the office or at the weekend a sporty experience. Thanks to the expert care of the previous owners, the car has a complete maintenance history. All service intervals were unconditionally adhered to according to the manufacturer's specifications. A major maintenance including oil, brake fluid and spark plug changes was carried out on June 6, 2023 at km 10,415 in the Porsche Center Göppingen. The last time the drive belt was changed was at 9,865 km. In deep black metallic and the extended leather interior, a very lavish range of optional extras and from German delivery in the original paint with only 12,973 km mileage, this car is well on its way to becoming a valuable classic. Not least because the last naturally aspirated engine in this model series was installed here, this example will give its new owner long-term pleasure and promises a high potential for value appreciation.
