A black Porsche is almost as obvious as a red Ferrari. But boring, ho! The Carrera 4S on your screen colours Basalt Black metallic and has chrome window frames for a chic contrast. For an extra sporty look, the bright red brake calipers behind the beautifully polished, 20 inch large 10-spoke Carrera Classic wheels include dark grey interior and wheel hub covers. And if we do focus on this part: the übersexy 911 hips look a little fuller than usual thanks to track extensions that allow the wheels to come out 5 mm further. An original factory option!
This is the very popular 4S-version, so the characteristic light bar between both rear lights shouldn’t be missing. The same goes for the 4 end pipes, 2 on either side. Looks nice, sounds even nicer! Furthermore, the model is faithful to its predecessors; this means an unmistakable and timeless coupé design. Ideally suited for a black paint …
Interior
Inside, you will find more of the same: the leather upholstery is black, as is the Alcantara skylight. Porsche emblems in headrests and on the centre armrest (with storage compartment) make tattoos of the legendary brand superfluous. Anyone who sits down for a change will sooner or later find an imprint of the famous coat of arms on his or her body. Meanwhile, the SportDesign steering wheel invites you to round corners with confidence. And that even though you’d just had a warm welcome when you boarded the car! The aluminium door sill panels light up as soon as the door is opened. As if der Elfer says: “The party is about to begin!”.
Options & extras
Spartan we can’t call a 911 for a long time. This 991 4S, for example, features such things as Bi-xenon lighting including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), a Light Design package, Park Assist front + rear, Sport Chrono Plus, Porsche Communication Management (PCM), Bose Surround Sound System, Servotronic, 14-way electrically adjustable seats including memory function, electrically folding exterior mirrors, a navigation and telephone module, Cruise Control, a rain sensor, blinds in the windscreen and automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors.
Technology & performance
But we saved the best for last, because the 6-cylinder boxer engine in the rear measures 3.8 litres and produces 400 hp on the front and rear wheels without the help of turbos. In combination with PDK, the Carrera 4S flies almost literally through its gears, making a 0-100 km/h sprint history after just 4.3 seconds. For comparison: that’s 2 tenths faster than what the fastest shifting mortal can do in a manual version. The top speed of 297 km/h is very close to the magical 300 limit. Whoever has the wind with him will also break it. However, how important is that when you know that the 991 curves eat up as if they don’t exist? Come test drive and judge for yourself.
With heartfelt greetings,
Prince Esclusivo
