This car was a special build taken on by Label Motorsports of Ada Michigan. They worked with our mutual client to create a very special car that has striking looks, awesome performance capabilities, and an impressive list of unique high-end aftermarket modifications. This car started life as a standard Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet that was finished in GT Silver Metallic, which was a perfect, neutral platform to create the car you see now.
A standard 997.1 Turbo Cabriolet has performance capabilities enough to knock you right out of your lederhosen, however there are always areas of vehicles, even high end vehicles like this one, where more power and performance can be squeezed out. The 3.8 Liter flat-6 in this 911 has a custom tune from EVOMS-it (“it” stands for “Intelligent Tuning”) which gives the car smoother power delivery, as well as more horsepower and torque. A Kline exhaust system featuring custom stainless headers, catalytic converter delete pipes, catback muffler system, ends in carbon fiber exhaust pipes. Other engine upgrades include a carbon fiber intake system, high flow Y-pipe, dual blow-off valves, AWE intercooler kit, and larger intercooler piping. This car’s stance is dialed in thanks to a TechArt coilover setup, which includes a nose lift system to help with steep driveways or speed bumps you may come across.
The looks of the car were the most noticeable result of this project, and the final look of the combination of all the exterior components make this 911 nothing short of breathtaking. The harder you look at the car, the more custom details you notice. To start, a number of parts from German tuner TechArt can be found in the form of the 997.1 Aerodynamic Package. Components of the Aero Package include, a front lip, side skirts, re-designed rear decklid to accommodate the carbon fiber rear spoiler, a dry carbon fiber rear diffuser section, dry carbon fiber front grille, and dry carbon fiber rear ducts in both the bumper and rear quarter panel. The aero modifications flow nicely and are not over the top. The wheels on the car are custom Vossen Forged three piece items, finished with Dark Smoke center sections and gloss clear lips. The front wheels measure in at 20”x9.5”, with the rears coming in at 21”x12.5”.
As we mentioned, the car started life as a Silver Metallic car, and as you can see, an awesome color was selected to finish the project off. Mamba Green Metallic wrap, using materials from Inozetek was chosen partly due to the client’s Irish roots, not to mention the color is simply stunning. The wrap was added by Label Motorsports’ expert vinyl wrap installer, and the color, especially in the sunlight, is sure to leave you enamored. The wrap provides a nice contrast to all the carbon fiber components, and hugs all the Porsche’s curves.
The interior of the car is pretty standard compared to the rest of the car. Porsche interiors are anything but standard, but there aren’t any notable aftermarket modifications that have been completed to this car. So in that sense we can say it’s standard. Espresso leather seats are heated and ventilated, a Burmester audio system and a GT Sport steering wheel are among the added options inside the car. Of course the car also features dual zone climate control, navigation, Apple CarPlay, multi-function display in the gauge cluster, and control of driving modes. Top up or top down, the interior is a comfortable place to be.
Make some room in your garage for this car, and leave your neighbors green with envy. As the Irish say, “what butter and whiskey won’t cure, there is no cure for.” That’s a clever sentiment and all, but we have to argue that a one of a kind Porsche Turbo like this one can be a cure for a great number of things, one of which is driving a boring vehicle.
