You recognize a Porsche 911 from thousands. A triple black outfit doesn’t change that at all. Call it modest, call it brutal, the 991-2 GTS Cabrio is striking anyway. The body, which is cast in Jet Black Pearl, is assisted by a set of über-beautiful 20-inch GTS wheels with a black coating and a real Centerlock. Very racy. The red brake calipers are a nice bonus. A little Porsche 911 connoisseur knows that the LED bar between the two rear light units, sporty bumpers with modified air intakes and SportDesign mirrors are always included in the GTS fun package. The dual exhausts have taken an almost central position at the bottom of the rear bumper since the facelift version called Porsche 991-2. And whether we can get used to this!
Interior
A black Porsche interior sober? Not in this 911 GTS Cabriolet! In addition to leather, there is also a lot of Alcantara on board the open Elfer. The middle parts of the adaptive sports seats, but also the steering wheel, the center armrest, door trim and the bottom of the dashboard are finished with it. The Sport Chrono clock and the GTS lettering in the headrests complete the racy atmosphere inside this sports car pur sang. Gray stitching provides a gentle contrast in the high-tech workplace of our Porsche 991-2 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet. Every driver (to be) will feel at home in no time.
Options & extras
Those who love comfort and luxury will not be disappointed in the Porsche 911 Cabriolet either. Things like seat and steering wheel heating, Cruise Control, traffic sign recognition, adaptive bi-xenon headlights and a reversing camera are included. Handy, but not exactly the options that are an extension of pure sports car qualities. However, make no mistake: further down the list are adaptive sports seats, PADM engine mounts, Sport Chrono and a sports exhaust. In short, you are not only kept in line when things threaten to go really fast, you are also driven to it. We’ll tell you in advance, so you can take it into account during the next ride…
Technique & performance
We have no doubt that this ride will be planned soon. Since the 2nd generation Porsche 991, every version has been equipped with a turbo engine. In the case of the 991.2 Carrera 4 GTS, Porsche blows no less than 450 hp from the 3.0 liter 6-cylinder boxer engine. For comparison: that is 30 more than the Carrera 4S and even 80 extra compared to the ‘standard’ Porsche 911 Carrera. The 0-100 km/h is completed in the GTS Cabrio within 3.7 seconds, provided it is equipped with a super-fast 7-speed DSG transmission, as in this case. The 991.2 only stops accelerating at 306 km/h. And what about its atmospheric predecessor? It needed 3.8 liters to get to 430 hp. The difference in torque is many times greater: 550 versus 440 Nm. You understand where we want to go. And more importantly: we understand where you want to go. You are welcome.
Sincerely, Prince Esclusivo.
