History: The Porsche 964 Cup was developed to replace the Porsche 944 Turbo Cup which raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup. Thus, the first 911s were introduced in this championship created in 1987. Produced in only 297 units between 1990 and 1993, this version was specially designed for racing and very few models were homologated for road use. Based on the 964 Carrera 2, the 964 Cup has several significant technical differences. It is equipped with an M64/03 engine developing 265 hp, an increase of 15 hp compared to the standard version. For safety and stability, it includes a welded roll cage, bucket seats, and 6-point harnesses. The chassis has been modified with a lowered ride height of 55 mm, and the steering is not power-assisted. Porsche also reduced the weight by eliminating door panels, soundproofing elements, and rear seats, thus achieving a weight of only 1,120 kg.
