This 964 Carrera RS shows 100k kilometers (~ 62k miles) and is offered with an owner’s manual, service records, and German registration listing the car as a 1993 model year.
The Carrera RS was reintroduced with the 964 chassis and featured a seam-welded bodyshell as well as an aluminum hood, rolled fenders, and thinner side and rear windows than those used on the standard Carrera. Finished from the factory in Guards Red (80K), this 964 RS has been repainted in 2018. Features include brake cooling ducts in place of the front fog light blanks as well as amber side marker lamps, dual manually adjustable side mirrors, and a speed-activated rear wing.
Magnesium 17″ Cup wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires measuring 205/50 up front and 255/40 in the rear. The Carrera RS’s ride height is lower than that of a standard 964, and it also features stiffer springs and adjustable anti-sway bars. Aftermarket Bilstein coilovers were installed under previous ownership. Stopping power is provided by an anti-lock system featuring black four-piston calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.
The cockpit features fixed-back Recaro bucket seats trimmed in black leather with perforated inserts. Interior amenities include roll-up windows, door pull straps, and a heater. The car was delivered from the factory without airbags, air conditioning, or sound-deadening material.
The M64/03 flat-six was modified to displace 3.8 liters under previous ownership, and a full engine overhaul in July 2023 involved re-grinding the crankshaft and replacing the bearings, piston rings, timing chains, and seals. The DME relay and battery were also replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle that features steel synchronizers, closer ratios than the standard Carrera, and an asymmetrical limited-slip differential. The flywheel and clutch fork were replaced in 2023.
