Gearbox / Drive Revise
Fuel system
Oil system
landing gear
Braking system
All our 964s are restored according to defined standards .
It begins with checking the initial condition of each vehicle. This check includes the following steps:
Thorough cleaning of the exterior and interior
Visual inspection of the paint
Visual inspection of the body
Visual inspection of the interior
Functional testing of all components such as air conditioning/heating, lighting, control units, etc.
Test drive
Visual inspection of chassis / brakes / engine
The second step is dry ice blasting. This includes:
Dismantling all underbody panels
Dismantling the front mask, the rear panel and the sill panels
Dismantling all lighting elements
Dismantle, clean and store all dismantled panels
Drain engine, transmission oil, washer fluid and brake fluid
Remove engine and gearbox
Transfer to dry ice blasting
Underbody, front, rear and engine compartment dry ice blasting
After dry ice blasting, the extent of the restoration is determined:
Re-visual inspection of the underbody for corrosion and damage
Determination of the scope of bodywork
Testing of chassis components
Checking all lines (brake, fuel, oil, etc.)
Removal of the oil tank, oil cooler and all oil lines (lines are generally replaced)
Chassis and brake components are generally overhauled or renewed
Now the preparation of the painting work begins:
Dismantling of the necessary parts for repair painting
Now the individual assemblies are taken to the respective trades:
Bodywork for bodywork / painter
Interior for saddlery (seats and panels for refurbishment)
Fittings for overhaul
Depending on the defect, overhaul electronic components
Engine and gearbox completely overhauled at plant 1
While the body and interior are being worked on, the engine and transmission are being overhauled. The overhaul generally includes:
Engine:
Manufactory 964 Revision Package I
Pressure loss and visual inspection
Disassemble the engine down to the camshaft housings, clean all parts
Wear parts such as clutch etc. are generally replaced
Replace auxiliary units such as starter, generator
Overhaul ignition distributor, replace if necessary
Check attachments for functionality and replace if necessary
Stripping, blasting and powder coating engine paneling (damaged parts are replaced and processed in the same way)
Re-galvanize all galvanized parts (as original)
Blast the exhaust system, check and replace if necessary
Assemble the engine and complete it for installation
Manufactory 964 Revision Package II
Completely disassemble the engine and clean all parts
Check crankcase, measure, rework if necessary, replace cylinder studs if necessary
Check crankshaft, measure, polish, replace if necessary
Check connecting rods, measure, angle, replace bearings
Check and measure valve train, intermediate shaft, timing chains, etc., replace worn parts
Check camshafts, rocker arms, rocker arm axles, etc., measure and replace if necessary
Generally overhaul cylinder heads completely
Check pistons and cylinders, measure and usually replace
Check camshaft housing, chain housing, etc., measure, rework/replace if necessary
Assemble the crankcase (generally all bearings, seals, etc. are replaced)
Wear parts such as clutch etc. are generally replaced
Replace auxiliary units such as starter, generator
Overhaul ignition distributor, replace if necessary
Check attachments for functionality and replace if necessary
Stripping, blasting and powder coating engine paneling (damaged parts are replaced and processed in the same way)
Re-galvanize all galvanized parts (as original)
Blast the exhaust system, check and replace if necessary
Assemble the engine and complete it for installation
Transmission:
After visual inspection for leaks, blast and disassemble
Check wearing parts and replace if necessary
For all-wheel drive vehicles, check the front differential and drive train for leaks and function; if necessary, replace worn parts or overhaul components
After completion of the individual trades, assembly takes place in Plant 1 or Plant 2, depending on capacity, in the following work steps:
Install chassis / brake (either reconditioned or new components)
Install oil cooling system (all new lines/hoses)
Complete the body with new seals and piping (doors, hoods, trim strips, etc.)
Install lighting and check function
Install new carpet set and, if necessary, new headliner
Insert discs
Assemble interior
Installing the engine and gearbox, commissioning
Install wheels (rims stripped of paint, powder coated, new tires)
Measure vehicle (adjust height, wheel load, track, camber, etc.)
Test drive / Checking all functions / Quality control
Demonstration for acceptance of the main inspection, if necessary entry of individualizations
Before delivery handover inspection
Manufaktur 964 GmbH is a passion-driven company dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of the Porsche 964.
Our focus is not on the sale of automobiles, but this is due to the large number of customers we have been able to make happy over the years. Of course, we stand by our product and our work. We are happy to help our customers market the vehicles we have created, if they so wish.
All vehicles that we offer have either been completely restored as a “full project”, repaired in a “rolling restoration” according to our standards or looked after over many years.
Everything we offer must meet our quality standards!
This is sometimes a bit exaggerated, but for us the quality of our work is the focus of our work.
