Another novelty in the new series was the drive technology: the coupé, targa and cabriolet body versions could be combined with either classic rear-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive known as Carrera 4.
Now there is the opportunity to bid on a Porsche 911 Type 964 as a convertible in this auction: The sports car from Zuffenhausen was built in 1992 and was first registered in Germany in April of the same year. The 911 has the VIN WP0ZZZ96ZPS450062 and, according to the seller, has 3 owners. This convertible was first registered with Porsche AG, after which the former German athlete Lars Riedel was the owner of this 911. In addition to the 2 existing vehicle keys, there is also a checkbook and a few earlier invoices – the history of this Porsche can therefore be traced back approximately. The German TÜV runs until October 2022 – the current owner states that he can have a new main inspection carried out. H-approval for the Porsche would be possible from August 2022. Matching numbers and a report are available.
"Mint green", as the color scheme of this 911 with the code L22R is called, is a rather rare paint color – it ensures that you definitely attract attention in today's traffic. According to the owner, the rear right side panel has already been painted, and the driver's door has also been replaced before. The exterior of this Porsche cannot be attributed any serious deficits on the body, and corrosion is not an issue either. According to the seller, the black fabric top of the convertible is new: it shows no defects and is also tight. No parking bumps or cracks can be seen on either the front bumper or the rear bumper. The current owner can rule out an accident.
A slight modification took place in the area of the wheels, since the original wheel set is not mounted here. The original rims (cup rims 17 inch) are still available and will of course be provided by the seller. Hankook tires measuring 265/35 on the rear axle and 225/40 on the front axle are mounted on body-colored 18-inch multi-spoke rims. Rims and tires are new according to the owner. The condition of the brakes can be viewed as TÜV-compliant and the condition of the chassis can be found without any major complaints.
There is plenty of leather in the interior of this convertible: a special feature here are turbo sports seats with larger side bolsters in gray. Although there is some patina on the sports seats, the seat upholstery and the leather are in a healthy condition. Gross damage, missing parts or defects in the interior are apparently not objectionable. In addition to the turbo seats and the extensive standard equipment, the special equipment of this 964 convertible includes the following features: Seat heating adjustable on the left and right, seats on both sides electrically adjustable, "Symphony RDS" radio and additional amplifier 4 × 20 watts. The fully electric soft top can be operated perfectly.
The speedometer of this Porsche 964 Cabriolet reads 127,400 kilometers: all the instruments in the interior work and the mileage of the sports car can be documented by a partially maintained Porsche checkbook and various documents.
A 3.6-liter, 250-hp six-cylinder boxer engine works at the rear, and the driver selects gears via a 5-speed manual transmission. A last service took place in 2020, the Porsche drives and, according to the seller, shifts perfectly. There are no technical defects to be noted.
