The vehicle in detail

In the 1972 model year, the end of the 914/6 project had long been decided. Therefore, no new quantities of certain Porsche parts were produced, but they were replaced by standard parts from the 914/4. The most striking feature is probably the ignition lock, which was no longer on the left side, but on the right side, as in the 4-series. Less striking were the 4-series wiring harness or the air pressure windshield washer system.
In total, only 250 units of the 72 model were built
