The interior features black upholstery, a matching dashboard, door panels, carpets, and floor mats. The VDM steering wheel with a butterfly horn button frames the VDO instrumentation with a 7000RPM tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges.
First, delivered to Dr. Gould in New York, New York, in March of 1969, and then it was relocated to Palo Alto, California, by the 2nd owner on January 4, 1971, at 7,140 miles. The 3rd owner was Mr. Snyder from Fremont, California, who purchased the 912 from a Mozart dealer. He worked at Intel. From 1986-2017, the 912 was stored in a garage, then sold to Mr. Abedian in 2018; in 2021, the current owner purchased the 912. Over the next few years, the current owner had the 912 serviced and maintained by Sports Car Garage in Palm Desert, California, where the following has been performed: replace pushrod tubes, install front struts, install rear shocks, replace axle shaft assembly, replace CV boots, installed a new clutch, replace engine rear main seal, and replace transmission seal. European Collectibles has recently rebuilt the top end of the motor, including new pistons and cylinders, rod bearings, cylinder heads, pushrod tubes, and a gasket kit.
Mechanically, it is powered by the matching 1.6-liter flat-four engine (Type 616/40) featuring dual carburetors rated at 102 horsepower with a matching manual 5-speed transmission and four-wheel disc braking system. Complete with a Porsche Production Specifications Certificate, a Porsche maintenance booklet confirming the first three owners, service records, a driver’s manual, and a California title.
