The vehicle in detail

For the 1978 model year, Porsche revised the 930 with a larger 3.3-litre turbocharged engine with intercooler that produced 300 horsepower. To fit the intercooler a newly designed “tea-tray” tail replaced the earlier whale tail. Porsche dropped the “Carrera” nomenclature for the North American markets and simply call it the Porsche Turbo worldwide. The larger engine helped reduce some of the turbo lag inherent in the earlier version. Only in 1989, its last year of production, was the 930 equipped with a five-speed gearbox. The 930 was replaced in 1990 with a 964 version featuring the same 3.3 L engine. There have been turbocharged variants of each subsequent generation of 911.
In November 1985, this Porsche 930 Turbo was produced and originally supplied to the United States where it was registered in 1986. In 1993, the owner of the car moved with his family to The Netherlands. The Porsche 911 Turbo – at that moment 7 years old – was brought with them into The Netherlands and registered. In 1996, they sold the car to a real enthusiast who was living in our hometown Alphen aan den Rijn with a mileage of 56,000 Miles. He drove the car in a 15 year period up to 65,000 Miles. The last 4 years the car was nearly driven due to health issues. In 2015, we sold this car to a real Porsche enthusiast in the Northern part of The Netherlands. We agreed that if he’d ever decide to sell the car, we got the first possiblity to buy her back. This happened a few months ago.

In the past 9 years the car was driven regularly and serviced completely. When the car arrived into our workshop earlier this year, a complete service was carried out – including new Continental tires, airconditioning service. The original Fuchs wheels were restored and the car received a new APK (like MOT/TUV/CT). According to the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity this matching numbers car is exactly how it left the factory in Guards Red (Indischrot) and black leather interior. The sunroof is of course in working condition. Currently road registered in The Netherlands and ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian.
