Model history
The Porsche 911 regularly ranks among the top of the list of the most popular classics worldwide. The first series 911s, which were presented to the world public at the IAA in Frankfurt in 1963 and produced from 1964 onwards, are particularly popular. The original version of the 911, generally known as the F series, radiates a special charm. Even those who are less keen on sportier vehicles can escape its fascination. Although the design appears much more modern, it is easy to see that the basic concept is still based on the Porsche 356. In technological terms, however, the introduction of the 911 represented a giant step for Porsche. In 1967, four years after the presentation of the new Porsche, the Porsche 911 T was added to the range as a fresh entry-level model.
