The car comes with matching numbers, the Porsche "certificate" from 2008 and the Porsche "birth certificate" which was also issued by the factory in January 2008. You could hardly wish for anything better because this rust-free and original Targa, imported from the USA in 2007, was restored from 2007 to 2009 and then driven by its owner in northern Germany until the current owner acquired the car in June 2014. (The two Dekra reports from 2009 and 2014 are also available in a comprehensive folder with all the documents). In order to complete the extensive work that had already been carried out, the new owner took the car to a Porsche specialist in Cologne for a perfect engine overhaul. In addition, the Targa received another overhaul of the very rare "Sportomatic" transmission from the same specialist in Cologne in July 2024 for around €7,000. (Receipts are available), and all other necessary work was carried out (new front brakes, etc.). Porsche introduced the "Sportomatic" as an alternative to the classic manual transmission in 1967 and advertised it as a "selective automatic" transmission in brochures, using the following wording, among others: "With the Sportomatic, the driver can still change gears whenever he wants and as he is used to. But he doesn't have to change gears. Especially not in situations where he is forced to go with the flow of traffic and changing gears is not beneficial but rather becomes a burden in the long run." We are talking about a wonderfully patinated and completely unmodified 911 Targa. The factory-fitted air conditioning is currently not active, but can be reactivated and fitted for an additional charge. The parts are available if you want to supplement the regular enjoyment of the Targa roof with an open one. The mileage read from the speedometer here has been converted to KM, but there is no guarantee for this after around 53 years, just as the fact that the car was accident-free from 1971 to 2007 in the USA can only be assumed. This vehicle has a lot of attention to detail and the car will also bring a lot of joy to its next owner. We would like to end these lines with a quote from the 70s and are happy to answer any further questions you may have and with our absolute passion for special vehicles: "Keep it Happy"
