Before the car changed hands in 2017 due to a death and came to Germany, the car was in one hand for over 30 years. It is unique that the car is in a very neat and original delivery condition. Parts of the body such as the two fenders and side panels are based on the measured paint thicknesses at the factory level and suggest the first paint. Technically, the vehicle, including the engine and transmission, was continuously maintained. Thanks to the Belgian Carpass, the odometer reading is 104,440 km, which means that the mileage is very low.
For me, this vehicle offers the possibility of a journey into the late 1960s and is still a sought-after vintage classic: the exterior color burgundy combined with the interior in black is exciting and noble at the same time. The factory forged Fuchs rims were supplied as special equipment. The combination of optics and original condition gives a fascinating overall picture: This specimen is in a very rare rust-free original condition. The entire interior, including the Targa roof, has remained untouched and unchanged since its delivery, and is free from damage. Neither welding or body work, nor accidental damage can be seen. Like the glazing, many seals and rubbers, as well as the lights and other add-on parts, the underbody is still in the first original delivery condition. This exudes an incomparably authentic flair of the time.
The condition in general deserves superlatives and the key data make especially collectors pay attention, who appreciate the rarity of an original vehicle: three previous owners, almost 105,000 km total mileage, mostly still in original condition and sometimes even in the first paint. Technically maintained, currently maintained and therefore only to be described as perfectly preserved.
The birth certificate and the data sheet confirm the delivery condition, as well as the same numbers, ie the car not only has the confirmed chassis number and the original equipment, but the engine and transmission are also “matching numbers”.
The car not only looks perfect, it also drives like this. The underbody shows no typical oil deposits, but is completely dry, clean and without deformation.
The vehicle was introduced to Germany in 2017 and has been given an H license plate. It is in a collection and was registered and moved regularly, as well as stored dry and dark. Most recently, a major service including technical revision including overhauling the brakes and chassis, changing fluids and adjusting the engine was completed in May 2019. The vehicle is ready for immediate use.
The original on-board folder with operating instructions and complete set of keys as well as a tool set is also part of this collector's package.
Conclusion: This early 911 2.0 T Targa SWB is probably one of the best remaining vehicles and the color is an absolute eye-catcher. This combination of retro color design, rust-free condition and technically perfectly maintained condition is rare. In addition, the history from a third hand and the low mileage in such an early model is an absolute rarity.
This vehicle stimulates all the senses: pure sound, typical smell and the ideal degree of patina with the certainty of the fully serviced technology. A lot of emotion, but also a lot of ratio, because a specimen in this condition is extremely rare and valuable. This specimen is in a museum-like condition, but much too good for it, because in principle you can drive and show it on every nice day. Gentleman, start your engine!
