The accident-free Porsche 911 S Targa still has the original black paint. According to the owner, there are no visible repairs or dents on the body, if you look closely you can only see repaired scratches, the 911 has been partially repainted. There are no signs of rust, all add-on parts are free of defects. All rubber seals are in place and in good order. The Targa roof is just as tight, cracks have already been repaired on the convertible top because it is a bit brittle. Headlights and lights are original, tight, and free of breakages and cracks. The glazing shows no damage, the chrome elements and decorative parts on the Porsche Targa, which are in good condition, are complete and without missing parts. The standard tool kit is original and just as complete.
The original Porsche Fuchs rims are in a used and age-appropriate condition, the tires have the original size of 195/65 R15 and the tires are free of defects with an approx. 7mm profile. There are also stationary tires for winter storage, but of course the Porsche cannot be driven with them, they only serve as stationary tires. The condition of the brakes is good and TÜV safe, the front brake cylinders were overhauled 2 years ago. The chassis and the landing gear are in a technically good condition according to the owner. The suspension is fine, the shock absorbers are tight and show only standard signs of wear. The front axle, tie rod and steering are free of defects, all parts of the chassis are original.
The interior is in good and neat condition, the leatherette seats are in their original condition. As a complaint, a seam on the passenger seat is to be mentioned, which, after consultation with the owner, is approx. 15cm open and an approx. 5cm long tear on the driver's seat. In addition, the central seat of the passenger seat is torn, which can also be inspected more closely using the series of images. In the photos you can also see that the boot carpet was slightly damaged by the battery in the lower right corner. Otherwise, the entire interior is in a complete and well-preserved condition. The Porsche has a Targa roof and a radio, the windows are cranked by hand.
The odometer has been showing 86,215 kilometers for a long time because it is defective. Otherwise all instruments will work, the clockwork has been replaced by a new, battery-powered clockwork.
According to the owner, the engine, gearbox and drive of the rear axle are in very good technical and visual condition. The boxer engine develops 177hp from 3.0 liters of displacement and comes from a 911 SC; the unit was completely overhauled in Germany in 2001. A slight oil leak can be seen, but according to the owner the vehicle runs without any noise. The engine runs nicely and, according to the owner's experience, starts without any problems after the winter. The 5-speed gearbox is easy to shift and works without making any noise. The alternator was renewed about 5 years ago, the last service took place in 2020. The vehicle electrics are OK and safe to operate and short-circuit. An oil change and a brake fluid change must be noted as pending items. The underbody is in very good condition, this can be attributed to the fact that the Targa spent a long time in the sunny state of California.
Overall, the Porsche 911 S Targa has been in the hands of the last owner since 2002, who is an accomplished mechanical engineer himself and has carried out all maintenance work and repairs himself. Apparently he always looked after the Porsche. The owner announces the following deficiencies: The windshield wiper does not automatically stop in its end position, the washer fluid tank is leaking and the folding roof is no longer folded because it is porous. Otherwise nothing stands in the way of driving fun with this 911.
