The fabulous 1972 Porsche 911 S 2.4 Coupe featured here is finished in classic Silver Metallic over a Black leather interior. This exceptional 911 was just restored to show standards by renowned Porsche expert, Bob Diers, of Classic Automobile Restoration in Omaha, NE. Since then, the car has been driven less than thirty miles since completion and is ready to be shown or driven. Due to its recently restored status, S specification model, and rarity, I personally believe the investment potential of this iconic model will grow beyond your imagination. We are proud to offer what we believe to be one of the finest 911 S examples on the market today to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best!

In preparation for a new generation of 911 for 1974, Porsche released a slew of updates to the then current car. An updated 2.4L motor featuring fuel injection and new emissions equipment for the US market produced 140hp in entry-level T-spec. Thanks to an improved torque curve and more power, the car was easier than ever to cruise around town. A somewhat longer wheelbase added stability, and a new Type 915 transmission offered a higher power tolerance and a conventional gate pattern.

With all of these changes, the 1972 911 represented a dramatically improved vehicle over its forebears. A black engine grille, chin spoiler, and gunmetal badges are the most obvious exterior changes. A curious design choice also made its debut in 1972: an external oil filler. While this certainly made oil changes more convenience, stories of unknowing fuel attendants and owners adding gasoline to the oil and destroying their car’s engines regulated this change to remain a 1972 exclusive. Naturally, like all air-cooled 911s, these cars are joyous to drive and offer a high investment potential.
