In October 1970 this car was delivered new to a lucky first owner in San Fransisco, where it stayed for many years.
The car is a unique with its COA from Porsche confirming matching numbers car on both engine and gearbox. From its 1964 launch until the 1967 model year, when the 911 S was unveiled with an engine producing 160 horsepower, which was 30 more than the regular model, and the first version of the iconic Fuchs alloy wheels, the Porsche 911 saw tremendous evolution. Notable improvements carried on with a 1969 extended wheelbase that improved handling. In 1970, the displacement was increased to 2.2 liters and Bosch mechanical fuel injection was installed, giving the S versions 180 horsepower. The S versions had upgraded light-alloy brakes and an aluminum engine cover to go along with their enhanced power, providing a superb driving platform for enthusiastic high-speed driving.
