The first owner was Werner Araus, of Norderstedt, Germany. The vehicle in detail

Over a 2-year period, a marque specialist performed a bare metal restoration to concour condition. The 911 was completely disassembled, and the body was stripped to bare metal. The body was metal-finished and prepped for paint. The paintwork is impeccable, with perfect gaps and panel fit. The exterior features tripled plated brightwork, new rubber seals, aluminum trim, and original glass. Additional exterior enhancements include Hella fog lights and Hella driving lights, with greater night-time visibility. Equipped with 4 ½” x 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels fitted with Sprint Classic Vredestein 165 HR15 tires. The undercarriage was stripped to metal and undercoated in German Wurth undershoot, and suspension, and hardware components have been completely detailed, and CAD plated to factory specifications.

The upholstery was reupholstered in the correct German materials by a well-known Porsche specialist in black vinyl, including the dash, comfort seats with houndstooth inserts, Haargan carpets, and a new headliner. Featuring a VDM wooden steering and restored factory VDO instrumentation with a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.

Mechanically powered by the matching 2.0L flat-six engine (Type 901/02) producing 160hp with 132 foot-pounds torque at 5200 rpm paired to a manual dog-leg 5-speed transmission (Type 901) with a four-wheel disc braking system. The engine was completely disassembled, and the case and cam towers were tumbled. The case was align-bored and decked, and the through bolts were spot-faced. The cam towers were cleaned and retapped, and new plugs were installed. The crankshaft was polished, balanced, and fitted with new gearing. New pistons and barrels were used with a new gasket set. The cylinder heads were resurfaced with all new valves. All the engine tin was powder coated, and the hardware was CAD-plated to the factory finish. The matching 901 transmission was completely disassembled, inspected, and reassembled with all new synchros and bearings. All the braking components are new rotors, rebuilt brake calipers, brake lines, and master cylinder.

Complete with tool kit, jack, books, Certificate of Authenticity, Porsche Kardex, spare wheel, photo documentation of the restoration, and service records. The 1967 911 S was the first 911 to have more horsepower than the base model, with 160 horsepower compared to the base model’s 130 horsepower. It also had one of the lightest chassis and the lightest 2.0 liter “S” engine with only 2,271 lbs of curb weight. This 911S, presented in its factory color combination, retains its matching engine and transmission, making it an impressive addition to any collector’s portfolio.
