1967 Porsche 911 S – Authentic Motorcars

The 911 “S” was first introduced for the 1967 model year and was the culmination of Porsche’s 10 plus years of racing and competition history wrapped up into a production street car. These early S models are considered one of the top collectables by the classic car industry and are treasured for their short wheel base chassis, lightweight body, nimble handling, and are thought to be the purest form of 911 produced.

This 1967 911S, chassis number 307206 was completed on December 19th,1966 and was first sold to a Mr. Edward Skultety by P.C. Pacific Inc in Burlingame, CA on March 27, 1966. Mr. Skultety would keep the car in sunny California for over 20 years and then the car was sold to the 2nd owner from Orange County who would also keep the car for almost 20 years. In 2009 the car was acquired by a collector in LA.

The vehicle in detail

Around 2010 the 911S received a complete glass out, bare metal respray in the factory original shade of Sand Beige, at the time the front floor pan section was also replaced with a factory correct Porsche part. Sportline Motors of CA was chosen to perform a complete engine overhaul and transmission rebuild at around 99,000 miles. In 2013 Vintage Excellence of Vista, CA was commissioned to carry out a very thorough restoration consisting of all new interior which was upgraded to leather w/beige pepita inserts, new brakes, /new suspension and mechanicals, refinishing /replacing of all brightwork, lenses, and the 15×4.5 Fuchs wheels were restored to a factory correct finish. Vredestein 165/15 Sprint Classic tires are fitted. Speedometers Plus in Los Angeles restored the gauges and clock. Partsklassik in Flagstaff AZ, handled overhauling the Weber carburetors and related components. Inside the cabin you will find rare factory optional front seat headrests, rear leather luggage straps, charcoal German velour carpets, and a rare original wood steering wheel.

All of the glass aside from the windshield are the original Sekurit branded type and in excellent condition. The windshield is a rare NOS tinted Sigla made in W Germany. The headlamps are genuine Bosch units and the lower fog lamps are the correct clear Hella branded with chrome housings.

In 2014 while attending “Friends of Steve McQueen Car Show” in CA, this 911 was awarded the “King of Cool” award which was chosen by Chad McQueen himself to represent what his father would have driven and or owned.

Today Authentic Motorcars is pleased to offer this 1967 911S with a copy of the original Kardex card, Porsche certificate of Authenticity, restoration receipts from 1999 to present, correct tool kit, jack, spare wheel, CA blue plates, and car cover. The motor and transmission are numbers matching and are confirmed with the supplied documentation both on the Kardex and Porsche COA. Driving the car is a true joy to behold as you get to experience the early short wheel base 911 in a more raw and spirited character than most of us are used to. The “S” model is something very special indeed and will continue to be on the hot list for any Porsche collector.
