The vehicle was significantly rebuilt in the course of a full restoration in 2007-2009 by the Patutschnik company in Bavaria and converted into the style of the racing model 3.0 RSR IROC. A double spring chassis replaces the conventional torsion bar suspension and is much more precise and easier to adjust. Unibal joints guide the moving parts of the chassis without play and thus provide precise feedback without the corresponding damping of usual rubber elements.
The braking system was taken from the large turbo and safely absorbs the 975 kg under all conceivable circumstances. There are no weaknesses to worry about, even in long-term use – for example on a Dolomite pass downhill or on track days on the ring.
The drive pushes the light vehicle with 3.8 liters. Displacement and registered 300 hp are a huge step forward, especially and above all due to the intentionally chosen gear ratio. The Porsche has a stated top speed of 260 km/h – a wise choice of final gear ratio, as nobody usually drives faster with it. Until then, however, it can go around almost any kind of bend in the gear that happens to be in gear. Whether it's the 2nd or the 4th, it doesn't make a big difference, because blessed with the displacement of 3.8 liters and relatively tame control times, the Porsche can be driven extremely lazily, almost casually and relaxed.
Since the rebuild, around 22,600 km have been traveled, around 22,000 of which were on normal, public roads. As far as we know, one of the 3 previous owners (after rebuilding) took part in driver training followed by free driving in Hockenheim. This event took place as part of the local Porsche Club and was not organized to achieve best times as part of a competition.
