This Porsche was modified in California in the 1980s with a modern slant-nose body and a 3-liter six-cylinder boxer engine based on the lightweight 912 Coupé body from 1969.
The car was brought to Germany in 2018, where it was acquired by the seller and subsequently restored at enormous expense.
For example, it was equipped with a modified 993 GT fiberglass rear wing with adjustable carbon wings, as well as fiberglass bumpers.
The black paint was recently thoroughly refurbished using a two-step process. The golden John Player Special foil is reminiscent of a special model of the 935 series. The three-piece Fuchs rims were also converted to 17" at the front and 18" at the rear as a homage to the 935 series.
A KW V3 coilover suspension and 22mm and 29mm torsion bars are mandatory for such a vehicle.
The interior houses a roll cage, Recaro seats with black Schroth 3-point harnesses, an original MOMO JPS steering wheel from the 70s, RS-style door panels, a fiberglass dashboard overlay from DP Motorsport, aluminum footboards, and a CAE shift lever.
Other highlights include upgraded brake calipers from the Porsche Boxster combined with brake discs from the Carrera 3.2, an original racing Weber carburetor (from the 906), a front-mounted oil cooler, stainless steel SSI heat exchangers, a CarBone exhaust with active bypass and GT3 tailpipes, an MSD ignition, and a lightweight flywheel.
This Porsche is now being offered in Germany with a fresh Classic Data report (grade: 2+), service records, a car cover with the "LAWBREAKR" embroidery, and a German registration in the seller's name.
Since the purchase by the seller, in addition to the measures already mentioned, the following modifications and improvements have been carried out.
A custom-made splitter made of ultra-strong fiberglass as a counterpart to the strong downforce of the 993 GT rear wing, which provides fresh air for the carburetor through the side intakes. 911R-style taillights, a carbon rear reflector, and an engine cover in honey-colored fiberglass further lighten the rear.
The three-piece Lindsey Racing wheels have a diameter of 17 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear. They were repainted in 2019 and modified with BBS step beds. The Toyo R888R tires are 235/45 and 295/30. The braking system was renewed in 2024 and now features 986 Boxster calipers at the front and Carrera 3.2 at the rear, ventilated 3.2-liter brake discs, steel-braided brake hoses, and a 25 mm master cylinder.
Suspension modifications include:
- KW V3 coilovers
- Turbo tie rods
- Elephant Racing 22 mm torsion bar front
- Carrera 3.2 stabilizers VA/HA – PU mounted
- Tarett Engineering strut mounts
- Rebel Racing Products wishbone bearings
- Welded reinforcements for rear shock absorber and spring plate
- Elephant Racing Uniball rear wishbone bearings
- Elephant Racing adjustable quick-change spring swords
- Rebel Racing Products spring retainer bearings
- Tarett Engineering 29 mm torsion bar rear
- Uniball coupling rods
The interior, trunk, and engine bay were painted black under the current owner.
A Cardiff Motorsport roll cage was fitted, as were Recaro Pole Position seats and Schroth harnesses, RS-style fabric door panels, and grey lightweight carpeting. Other components include a black fibreglass dash overlay from DP Motorsport, perforated aluminium floor pans from NetzwerkElf, an adjustable throttle pedal, a CAE gearshift lever, and custom seat runners. A rare, original MOMO John Player Special two-spoke steering wheel sits in front of the VDO instrumentation. A twin Lambda wide-range air-fuel ratio gauge from Innovate Motorsports is mounted in front of the gearshift lever. The five-digit odometer shows 113,000 miles, of which approximately 5,000 miles were added under the current owner.
The 3.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine (204 hp variant) was installed in the 1980s and is said to have been later modified with 964 camshafts, enlarged intake ports, and a recently overhauled Weber 46 IDA3C carburetor, as well as a front-mounted oil cooler.
Further work included repainting the engine bay and installing the following components:
- SSI heat exchanger
- CarBone active valve exhaust system with GT3 tailpipes
- MSD Digital 6AL ignition box and coil
- Clewett high-performance ignition cables
- Fiberglass fan cover
- WEVO engine mounts
- Rennline gearbox mounts
- SACHS sports clutch
- Lightweight flywheel
- Replacement crankshaft seals
- Replacement spark plugs
- New drive shafts
- Refurbished pedals
