PORSCHE 911 S / S/T / GROUP 4 / 2.5L MFI

The late 60s and early 70s. A time when Porsche’s motorsport department was a little closer to the regular production line. And it is precisely in this period that the journey of this, now Conda green 911 S began. Born in 1969, the car revisited the factory already the year after an incident on the Autobahn. Already here it was decided that the car would be rebuilt and adapted for what was then called ‘Group 4’. A class where Porsche’s 911 S/T easily fit in. A wider, harder track-ready variant of the S model. And it was precisely this that was chosen for this car!

The vehicle in detail

The car that started life as a Blut Orange S now leaves the factory in Conda green exterior with a 2 liter engine that delivers 242hp. Even in ‘Group 4’ space was left for mechanical differences giving Porsche the opportunity to offer different levels mechanically to its customers. But 242hp was a lot more than that. The car also became a full 5 cm wider per side. And in this version, the car was actively driven in racing contexts until 1976 by Kent Frohde who also ended up at the top of the podium on a couple of occasions with the car. As the car stands today, it is even harder than the late 70s.

The early sand-cast aluminum block forms a 2.MFI splash and 89mm pistons coupled to Carrillo rods to culminate in an engine that pushes out around 250hp via a built 915 box with adapted gearing intended to keep the revs up and a ZF diff. The exterior is largely unchanged in its Conda green suit. The aggressive widening has housed 9″ Minilite at the rear and 8″ Fuchs at the front. As it should be on a car of this rank. The interior is spartan and breathes motorsport. Two contemporary Racaro seats fitted with OMP belts place the driver in a racing environment. The car gives the impression that everything should be as simple and above all as light as possible. Seemingly everything is clean and in the same striking green color as the exterior. Around it runs a black full cage and directly in front of you a Momo Prototipo steering wheel with quick release. This is undeniably not the car for those who want adaptive cruise control, nor the car for those who require wireless CarPlay. But the vibrating sensation that travels through the seat and through every fiber in your body when you turn the ignition in this car is completely unmatched and makes every red light feel like the starting line at the SPA.
