The original "matching" engine received a revision from A&P sports engines including new pistons and cylinders for an increase in displacement to 2.2 liters and was perfectly tuned at VGS in Cologne. The current performance diagram shows 180PS and 198NM with a nicely flat torque curve. Transmission and chassis were also revised and tuned to the sporty purpose.
The body has been consistently lightened, fenders, hoods and bumpers are made of GRP, the rear windows are made of Makrolon. The car now weighs under 950kg. Many details are reminiscences of the original '67 "R" and give the car a very nice charm.
In addition to the looks, the function and reliability of this 911 are also impressive. The engine and transmission offer impressive dynamics with very good starting behavior and easy drivability. The equipment is optimized for historical rallies, including a tripmaster, intercom and roll bar. The historically correct bucket seats with four-point belts offer the best seating comfort.
No further work is necessary on this 911, it drives and functions without problems and is very enjoyable to drive.
