When in our shop last year to have the brakes & tyres replaced; we discussed the sweaty engine and gearbox and the owner decided to have these reconditioned. New brake discs, pads, fluid, tyres, exhaust… are all new and good to go! Just prior to being advertised for sale; the restoration work on the – matching numbers! – engine and gearbox were completely finished and the engine is still in its break-in period!
Acquired by the current owner several years ago, this Targa still presents in excellent condition overall. The 911 E was designed to be the most comfortable of the 911 models; many were lavishly appointed with a variety of factory options. Conceived to fit in between the 911 T and the 911 S, the E designation stood for einspritzung, German for “injection,” noting mechanical fuel injection. For 1973 Porsche produced just 1,055 examples of the 911 E Targa.
