1969 brought what was at the time the most major updates to the 911 yet. Its wheelbase was lengthened by a little over two inches to improve stability and handling at speed – a long-running issue common to all rear-engined vehicles – while two of three trim levels were now offered exclusively with fuel injection (in the USA). The luxury focused 911 L and standard 911 were dropped in favor of the 911 E, slotting nicely between the the entry-level 911 T and sport-oriented 911 S.
With 140hp from its 2.0L Flat-6, newly introduced ventilated brake discs at all four corners, and available hydro-pneumatic front suspension dampers, the 1969 911 E rewarded its buyers with the grand touring excellence the 911 is so well known for today. Period reviews comparing the 911 E to its siblings (including the four-cylinder 912) describe the 911 E as having superb handling without the peaky behavior of the 911 S’ engine or that car’s somewhat less forgiving suspension. Therefore, it is easy to recommend the 911 E to today’s collectors and investors who wish to enjoy the classic 911 look and feel.
The sensational 1969 Porsche 911 E 2.0 Sunroof Coupe featured here is finished in gorgeous Ossi Blue over an impeccably kept Black interior. This incredible motorcar has been meticulously cared for by only two California collectors from new, the latter of whom only released the car after over 40 years in their care. Because of this car’s 31,198 actual miles, rare color combination, and incredible original condition, this Porsche is the perfect example to add to any premier collection. We are proud to offer this investment-grade 911 E Coupe to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own the very best at an investment price!
