1974 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe – RM Sotheby’s
For the 1974 model year Porsche introduced its new G-series 911 platform to meet new the American safety standards. These rules mandated more heavily reinforced front and rear inner structures to better withstand low-speed impacts. The model was now offered as a base 911, the 911 S, and the top-of-the line 911 Carrera. The cars destined for the North American market featured the 2.7-liter Type 911/93 engine with K-Jetronic fuel injection, which produced 175 bhp. The Carrera boasted widened rear quarters to accommodate wider Fuchs alloy wheels and larger tires. The Carrera also carried the “ducktail” rear spoiler and front air dam introduced on the ’73 RS. Distinctive “Carrera” graphics were featured along the sides of the car.
One of just 528 examples built for North America – Highly original and in award-winning condition – Known and exceedingly well-documented history
