“The Carrera 3.0 was marketed between 1975 and 1977. It was built “in a sandwich” with the standard 911 and the 911/930 Turbo. During this very short production period of two years, only 3687 Carrera 3.0s were built, an almost tiny number compared to the 58,000 Porsche 911SC and 76,500 Carrera 3.2s that were built. Of these 3 687 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0s, 2564 were delivered as Coupés and only 1123 as Targas. "(Elferspot.com)
“Rare because of the low number of units, a fantastic, air-cooled engine with a beguiling sound and a classic look. A dream for enthusiasts. "(Elferspot.com)
The Porsche is painted in the rare manufacturer's color diamond sahara, color code 436, which was only available in model years 1976 and '77. Except for the bonnet, it still seems to be the original paint. Accordingly, this Targa comes with a little patina. Smaller paint defects can be seen, as the detailed illustration shows. Overall, however, these are only noticeable when viewed very closely. Everything corresponds to the original appearance without any external modifications.
The Targa has new Continental ContiSport summer tires, 205 / 55ZR16 at the front and 225 / 50ZR16 at the rear. In addition, the original black Fuchs rims in 7 (front) or 8 x 16 inches (rear), all of which are in good condition with a few visual flaws. But these are not real defects. The chassis is original, the brakes are also in good condition.
The black leather interior in the interior is in a condition that indicates good care. Overall very well-kept and with only a very subtle patina, which more than does justice to its age. A new DIN radio is installed. Round speakers are embedded in the door panels, these were apparently retrofitted once. There is no damage in the interior, only normal wear and tear and slight signs of use can be seen. The rear window wiper should also be mentioned as an optional extra.
The odometer reading is 25,594 kilometers. All fittings and displays work.
The original air-cooled 3.0 liter boxer engine with its 147 kW or 200 hp from exactly 2956 cubic centimeters works in the rear. The 5-speed manual transmission is extremely smooth and precise. This year another service was carried out and the Porsche got a new TÜV. There is no damage to the engine or technology. The underbody is also in good condition, only the exhaust has been welded once.
All in all, this is an honest G-model Targa in largely original condition with a light and authentic patina, in a rarely found version with the still original 200 hp engine without turbo. Extensive improvements were made to this vehicle after it was purchased by the current owner, this is extensively documented by invoices and receipts. The next thing to do is to replace the exhaust, which the owner can arrange. Everything else is in good condition, as described. The Targa is extremely easy, fast and safe to drive and in this rare version is an absolute enthusiast and collector's vehicle with high potential for increasing its value. If desired, the current owner can also replace the exhaust for a corresponding surcharge.
