Model History
The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 was produced from 1976 to 1977 and was a significant model variant in the history of the 911. It represented a transitional phase between the earlier 2.7-liter models and the later SC models. The Carrera 3.0's 3.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine was a development of the 911 Turbo's engine, but without a turbocharger. With an output of 200 hp, it offered impressive performance and improved durability thanks to its aluminum engine block. Combining classic 911 design cues with technical refinement, the Carrera 3.0 was very popular with both enthusiasts and collectors. The optional rear spoiler emphasized its sporty orientation and contributed to better aerodynamics.
