That’s right, it wasn’t until 1984 that the 911 model line would officially be called the “Carrera”. Prior to this, any Carrera badging simply denoted a trim level or package, i.e. the optional “Carrera Pack” on the 1974 911. The Carrera would run from 1984 to 1989—the first half fitted with the tried-and-true 915 gearbox and the second half (’87 – ’89) featured the legendary, 959 developed, G-50 transmission.

Photographed here, our 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet is finished in its original color combination of Grand-Prix White over a Black leather interior and has traveled only 11,146 miles since new. Having never left collector grade care, this particular 911 is in exceptional condition and is ready for another lifetime of use.
