The most striking feature of the redesigned body is the wide bellows on the bumpers. A technical concession: stricter safety regulations in the USA require all new cars to survive an impact at 5 mph (8 km/h) without damage when moving forwards and backwards. Porsche has, however, slightly modified the typical round front fenders with the integrated vertical headlights. At the rear, a red light strip with Porsche lettering between the taillights marks the new 911 model. Standard three-point seat belts and front seats with integrated headrests ensure greater safety for front passengers in the larger interior. Porsche has integrated a large impact surface into the new sports steering wheel, and new storage compartments with hinged lids on the doors. The 911 Carrera has a three-spoke leather steering wheel and electric windows. Even if the modern design and the wide bumpers are not initially well received by all Porsche fans, the change is long overdue. With the new generation, Porsche has managed to keep the classic silhouette unchanged.
From 1983, Porsche presented the model series with a 3.2 liter engine that produces 231 hp and 284 Nm. This engine is also installed in the vehicle we are offering, without a catalytic converter and paired with the 5-speed manual transmission of the type 915.
The 911 offered here was delivered within Germany in 1985 and is fully documented. Our nutmeg brown 911 was then completely restored in 2009, which is fully documented with photos. The two axles, the engine and gearbox were completely dismantled and reconditioned with new parts. A stainless steel damper system made of chrome-nickel steel with catalytic converters was installed. The body and floor pan components were fully restored. As part of the restoration, the vehicle was completely repainted in its original color. After the work was completed, a 300 km/h speedometer was installed and the mileage was set to zero. The previous base had run 214,675 km.
All work was documented with pictures or invoices.
