Thank you for your interest in this special Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Targa! As a long-standing supplier of sports cars, enthusiasts' and collectors' vehicles, we have been offering you a large selection of new and order vehicles for 36 years.
The plans of the Porsche management were to phase out the 911 in 1981. The future model range was to consist only of the modern, water-cooled vehicles with front engines 924, 944 and 928. After CEO Ernst Fuhrmann was replaced by Peter W. Schutz at the end of 1980, this plan was changed, fortunately for all of us. For the 1984 model year, the name was changed from "SC" to "Carrera" and the displacement of the naturally aspirated engine was increased to 3.2 liters, which produced 170 kW (231 hp).
The Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Targa we are offering from Germany is an early model from the 1984 model year. The data of this exceptional 11 will make every collector's heart beat faster and every Porsche enthusiast sit up and take notice: With a mileage of just 17,499 km, a completely original and unrestored state of preservation and a body in its original paintwork in the very rare slate blue metallic paintwork that Porsche only offered for one year, the car undoubtedly, unreservedly and in every respect deserves the title of "reference vehicle". The impressive history of the vehicle begins exactly 40 years ago, with the original vehicle order signed on February 7, 1984 by the first owner, a doctor from Kempten. The original vehicle invoice dated June 28, 1984, issued by a southern German Porsche Center, where the car was also serviced and looked after over the next 36 years, lists the car's special equipment, which includes the paintwork in slate blue metallic (DM 1,290) and the turbo sports seats in black (DM 2,330). Produced on July 11, 1984 and first registered on July 17, 1984, the Targa was handed over to its first owner on July 19, 1984 as part of a factory delivery in Stuttgart. The original first vehicle registration document confirms the exceptionally long holding period of the first owner, who owned the car for 36 years (!) from 1984 to 2020. In old age, the first owner parted with his vehicle and handed the car over to a doctor friend from the region in August 2020, who acquired the Targa for his vehicle collection. In February 2023, the car was purchased by its last owner, a private individual from Munich. The vehicle has been registered in Germany throughout the entire time since delivery and all general inspection documents and the original service booklet with the service entries are also available. This means that the history can be proven without gaps and without a doubt. With its extremely low mileage, the completely original delivery condition with paint values that are all around at factory level, and a very rare paintwork in slate blue metallic as well as the sports seats in real leather, this Targa looks like a time capsule that has survived the last 40 years untouched. Especially for collectors and lovers of absolutely original vehicles with the lowest mileage in their original condition, this "full set" including the original service booklet, operating instructions, the complete set of keys, as well as the tool set and the complete documentation since ordering and delivery, is probably a unique opportunity. In August 2024, a new service including MOT/AU was carried out in a Porsche center and the car already has a classic car registration according to §23a, so the vehicle is ready for the next Indian Summer outing without compromise. We don't know of any other car that even comes close to these key data and we are sure that this '84 3.2 Carrera Targa will bring its new owner a lot of joy.
