All Carrera 2.7 MFIs in 1974 were either fitted with the duck tail or with a flat engine cover, the 1975s had the whale tail fin. The Carrera 2.7 developed the same weight as the 2.7 RS Touring, i.e. 1,075 kilos.
The engine of this car is absolutely fabulous, and its sound unmatched. At the time, the car performed exceptionally well, and Motors magazine had clocked the Carrera 2.7 with a time of 5.5 seconds in 0-60 mph.
Porsche will build 1,633 Carrera 2.7 MFI coupé (plus 631 Targas) between 1974 and 1976.
The offered car was delivered new in Germany in February 1975. The car is in its original configuration, namely Lime Green exterior (color code 137), black interior and Shetland fabric. The Porsche certificate is present, the car has its original engine and the production number is correct. On the other hand, the gearbox is not the original one, it is indeed a 915/16 but older.
The car was fully restored in 2010, an invoice of nearly 50,000 euros attesting to this restoration.
It is still in a very good condition of presentation and operation. The paint is of good quality, the alignments are good. The car’s underpinnings are perfectly sound and no trace of rust or shock is detected. For sale we will refit the original mirror.
In mechanics it works perfectly. The 2.7 snorts easily and takes its turns impeccably. The box does not catch at all. The clutch is reinforced and shows no signs of weakness. The sound is fantastic with the stainless steel double-ended exhaust fitted to the car.
This Carrera 2.7 can be viewed by appointment in our premises.
